The capital of the United Kingdom, London attracts 15 millions of visitors each year. This comes as no surprise, as London is one of the top tourist destinations in the world and houses hundreds of cultural attractions ranging from royal palaces and extraordinary museums to vibrant markets and plenty of entertainment options.
London was founded by the Romans who invaded Britain in 43 AD and built a bridge right across the Thames. Thanks to the deep waters, the Romans figured out that this place could be a great place to build a port. This is the story of how London was born. At first, there were no stone walls in the city, but at the end of the 2nd century, a 20-feet high wall was erected around London.
